Auburn: This is Lee County's largest city and home to Auburn University, which not only provides first-rate education, but also provides the city with roughly a quarter of its employment.
Opelika: Shoulder-to-shoulder with Auburn, this city is also a destination for people interested in Auburn University, but is also highly touted as a family-friendly town with great schools.
Phenix City: The second largest city in Lee County, Phenix City is a suburb of Columbus Georgia and has been repeatedly recognized as an outstanding family-friendly community.
Beulah: This small community is an unincorporated area that is a part of the Auburn Metropolitan Area featuring a rural lifestyle.
Beauregard: This unincorporated community is named for Confederate general P.G.T. Beauregard, this is a rural community of 10,000-15,000 people.
Gold Hill: An early resident named "Goldsmith" gave his name to this community in the early 1800s. Today, it is mostly within Auburn's corporate limits.
Marvyn: An unincorporated rural area previously located in Russell County; Marvyn was received in a trade for Phenix City in 1923.
Roxana: This is a rural community in northwest Lee County. lying roughly between Waverly and Loachapoka.
